Why is breaststroke considered a traditional swimming stroke?

Because people have always liked stroking breasts.|||beacuse that was the way gentlemen would swim during victorian england. Freestyle was considered classless because it involved splashing while breast would allow someone to propel themselves across the pool/lake without making any splashing

also, free was brought over from american indians and it wasnt until the trudgeon was developed that it became socially acceptable for a european to swim it|||I think because it isn't time consuming, neat, and "easy" to learn. It's also perfect for not using all your energy up.

Imagine if you were a lifeguard and you did the dolphin kick to go save someone :p
