How can you drop seconds in breaststroke?

Ive been a breaststroker for a long time and im only 12. Im a 1:31 in 100 yrds.i wanna drop to a 1:16 in one year

it sounds impossible but any tips? i at least swim all year round? i atleast wanna be at a 1:20!!!|||Turns, and your pullout off the wall is huge. If you get a really strong push off the wall, and a really quick turn before that, you can shave an easy 5 seconds (with a lot of practice). Also working on starts also is good. If you still do not see marked improvement, I would work on your kicking and the timing of your entire stroke. Make sure you finish your entire kick movement before you start with your arms. Also, make sure your arms sweep wide and powerfully, grabbing as much water as possible while maintaining a quick stroke.

Hope these random tips help|||firstly you should work on youre leg strength because then you will be able to push off the wall and some arm strength,

the arm and leg strength will help for a faster further stronger pull out and putting youre head along and not straight up|||make sure you have a tight streamline, this is crucial. You are allowed two dolphin kicks before your one pulldown in breaststroke which could mean at least a second if you swim long course maybe more for short. Try to focus on your glide thats really the fastest part of your stroke, and your turns need to be quick. Try to set realistic goals and don't push yourself too hard, that could lead to injury.|||Form and focus.|||For starters 15secs drop in one season is alot to expect keep your goals within reason say aim for 1:25 to start then 1:20 it is much easier to take off lots of small chunks of time rather than one big chunk.all right enough of the lecture time for some tips

Technique is the first thing to look at spend an extra 15-20mins with your coach after training working on this and ask them for specific things to change

Some general tips your legs are the power base for breaststroke work on kick long and strong and the glide at the end of your kick is just as important instead of just bringing your legs together at the end really squeeze your legs together for more power and momentum for your glide

timing is another thing that is very important in BR your arms should be gliding at the same time your legs are pushing to propel you into your glide and stretch your arms as long as possible the further you glide the longer each stroke is and the less strokes you do the less energy you use

Hopefully this helps you achieve you goals but remember realistic goals are the key

Good luck
