Is it faster to take your breaststroke strokes quickly or glide for a few seconds?

It's faster to glide for a few seconds the come up fast and take a breath, if you make your strokes too fast it's like your going no where|||The purpose of gliding is to propel you forward faster. In order to glide faster snap your legs together really hard when you kick.|||i agree with the first answer, glide by first pull-breath-kick then glide
