How can I improve my breaststroke turn?

I lose about 2 secs. on my turn and it really hurts my time considering I'm .51 secs. away from an "A" time. Can someone send me a link and explain the steps for me, this is urgent, because my meet is tonight.|||ok breast is like one of my worse strokes im more free and back but ill try to help.

ok my coach always said you should be doing about 8 or 9 pulls per 25 so u really need to pull hard and long and that will shave a few hundreths off. when you are going to the wall speed up as much as you can but you have to be lightening fast off the wall. like two hand touch then bam your off my coach is always screaming faster off the wall and blahblah

try this site http://members.tripod.com/~breastroker/b鈥?/a>

hope it helps good luck tonight|||fist off - good luck tonight!

Breaststroke turns and start are where you win and lose races. To answer your question, you must first

-attack the wall. Swim in hard to the wall, this will help you transfer more energy into your push off.

-tuck your legs and heals into your rear end

-pull your chest close to the wall and start to twist to your preferred side this will happen naturally.

-plant your feet and and drop your bottom hand your body will begin to layout on your side.

-as you begin to sink shoot your top hand just behind your top ear into a tight streamline position

-push off HARD in a slightly downward angle

-stay tight toes pointed and hold that position until you feel your self start to slow down

-pull down HARD stay tight toes still pointed

- do not immediately kick glide with your hands at your sides until you start to slow. make sure you fingertips are extended and your palms are facing the surface. If you are doing this right the angle of your body and hand will act like a plane wing and use Bernoulli's principle of lift to cause you to get extra glide.

-slip your hands up your torso and kick yourself into a streamline to come to the surface.

-as soon as you get to the surface SWIM LIKE HELL.

you can do it. A second in the breaststroke isn't a lot to trim off with improved technique.

One last thing. Never look for they guy next to you EVER. it's just you and the walls. Attack the walls.|||touch turns always a little slower than flip turns so dont worry too much about it.

i swam the fly more but the turns are pretty much the same

right when you touch, turn your body slightly to the side your gonna push off from, the arm that is facing the other wall should extend and push off from the wall

writing descriptions makes it sound a lot more complicated then actually having a demo... watch videos of olympic swimmers.|||try not to stay on the wall for a long time and dont pull your body out of the water. try to stay low. get a private with your coach and fix the problems.|||http://www.breaststroke.info/newturn.htm

This like tells you alot of info on the turn

Hope this helped!|||what do you mean by turn?
