Ways to cut down on my breaststroke time?

i have a 1:08....i want to get under a minute...how? what part of the stroke is most important...kick? pushoff? stroke? turnover?|||Since you are getting decent times I would assume that your stroke is pretty sound. To cut time in your swim work on the transitional parts of your swim. Work on your starts. Swimming short course? Work on your push off and your underwater glide. And of course work on finishing strong. Ask your coach or a fellow swimmer to help you with your stream lining. Also check your hand/arm position on your stroke. On your recovery, work on exploding forward into a long stretch into your glide.|||go faster|||the kick is the most important and try not to br3eath but once in the middle of the pool going both ways and at the turn that way you stay more streamline in the wateryou will go much afaster that way|||first off an 8 second drop is to much to set as a goal to. you need to have a set plan maybe this season you go for 1.04 talk it over with your coach. the other person was right about the kick it is very important but not the only thing. your stroke has to be perfect. more so than other strokes because so much of your body stays in the water. so work on your stroke! lifting is very important I use to lift 3 days a week an hour at a time. and don't get discouraged that 1 min barrier is very hard to break you might swim 100.01 a hundred times but when you break it. it gets easier and easier. Good Luck|||I have a 1:05 in 100 breast stroke in meters! What you do is have a quick whip kick. A slow kick will get you nowhere! Also, slightly bring your hands out of the water to get that stronger forward pull. In addition, don't move your head side to side, keep it at a 45 degree angle looking down at the water.|||the most important thing is the timming of the stroke. Remember: pull, breath, kick, glide! If you get this right it should improve a bit.|||keep ur head as close to the water as possible and a more powerful kick|||make sure that if your swimming with USa swimming rules, to do that dolphin kick as smoothly and as powerfully as you can. turn quickly, and slap your toes together at the end of every kick|||your kick and glide is the most useful part of your breaststroke.your upper body just tends to thrust u foward but the more powerfull your kick the further u glide so the faster u reach the wall. i went from a 2 minute time to a 90 sec. with that guidline.
