What is better for my body/chest/muscles workout breaststroke or front crawl / freestyle?

I have been swimming for 6 years and Ive recently gotten tired and bored of doing push ups and weights so Ive been swimming again,so which is better for primary my ARM MUSCLES AND MY CHEST?

Freestyle or breaststroke?

Thanks|||My suggestion is try putting on some diving weight during your swimming work out. Use pull bouys (for your legs) and swimming paddles (for your hands) with your strokes. These swimming sids should make things interesting for you. These swimming aids will also help with your improve your stoke techniques these swimming aids can be used with your freestyle, breast and back stroke. Have fun!|||All in all, I would say freestyle. Freestyle relies much more heavily on the arms; breaststroke gets most of its power from the kick. If you want to try it in the pool, you will probably find that breaststroke kicking (without arms) gets you a lot farther than flutter kicking (without arms).

P.S. This is only true if you are doing a competition-legal breaststroke, where your arms only come down to about your neck before coming together, pushing out, and stroking again.|||I think it's six of one, half dozen of the other. You really should do more than one stroke for a more thorough work out.|||free style but be sure to do sprints..distance will build endurance. sprints will build muscle
