Breaststroke?

What is the proper way to do the breaststroke?|||ok, so i have been on swim team for now 5 years.

Arms:

You put ur hands close to your chest in a book form, then stretch them out slowly while flipping your hands, then pull out and come in back in book form.

Legs:

This is easy, kick your legs out and and a little wide and then pull back in.

Hope this helps!|||Timing is important. You need to pull with your arms as you're pulling you legs back to your buttocks. Then you push your arms forward as you're kicking out with your legs, ending up in a streamlined glide position. You breathe out whilst you are straightening out and in whilst you are pulling with your arms. When you pull with your arms, your head should come out of the water for sufficient time for you to breathe in: otherwise, your head is better underwater (more streamlined).|||our coach tells us "Pop tart, roller coaster"

starting in streamline position, you pull your arms out and down (remember to keep your elbows above your fingertips) and at the same time try to pop your head and back out of the water as far as possible. have your knees pulled up so that once your hands get to your chest, you can kick. Kick DOWN and try to snap your hips up out of the water. at the same time remember to get your hands out in front of you and dive your head down into streamline position again. (remember to squeeze your ears) then, start again

breaststroke and butterfly are "short axis strokes" meaning that your hips are the axis of rotation. remember to let your body flow in a vertical pattern and not to rotate along your spine. the vertical movements are where the pros get all of their speed|||personally i like it better out of the water......|||Go to this website and click on Breastroke. I'm sure it'll help some. =)

http://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/tec鈥?/a>|||although there are some interesting techniques posted on here, i just think its too hard to type the way to do breast stroke. i am a breaststroker but i wouldn't know how to say it unless i could show you. sorry..|||It is pretty hard to explain so I will tell you you have a simultaneous up-out-around kick, and the same with your arms. To see what I? mean my coaches use videos and there are some on websites, so try looking at these.
